The Whaler Maui

In the final novel of Coulter's Star series, Saint Morris meets Juliana DuPres on Maui when he is a young doctor landing off of a whaler and she is the 13-year-old daughter of a minister. Six years later, Saint sees Juliana again--being sold in a slave auction in San Francisco. Saint saves her, thinking of himself as her protector. Juliana has other ideas.
